Amanda Myers

Program Manager

Amanda Myers is the Programs Manager for 1st Amendment-1st Vote, Running Start’s High School Program in New York State. She takes great pride in leading one of the only programs in the state geared toward training high school girls for government leadership and elected office. She is passionate about creating inclusive and impactful experiences that help to foster confidence and community leadership among young women.  Over the past two years, with 1st Amendment-1st Vote, Amanda has helped double the number of program participants and now trains nearly 200 girls from high schools across New York State each year.

Before taking on this role, Amanda spent seven years as a high school educator, which has enabled her to bring a deep understanding of youth development and civic education to her current work. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a master’s degree in Education from the University at Buffalo. She lives in Western New York with her partner, Tim and their daughter, Eloise. She spends her limited free time learning to crochet and riding her bike.
